If you’re based in Abbey Wood and looking to start riding a motorbike or scooter, your first step is completing a CBT — Compulsory Basic Training. It’s a legal requirement across the UK and gives you the essential skills to ride safely and confidently.
Although there may not be a training site directly in Abbey Wood, LMRT offers CBT courses near Abbey Wood with easy access for local learners. Our DVSA-approved instructors will guide you through every part of the process — from basic controls and road safety to real on-road riding.
The course takes just one day and is suitable even for complete beginners. All safety gear and training bikes are provided, so you won’t need to worry about buying your own equipment to get started.
Once you’ve completed the CBT, you’ll receive a certificate valid for two years. This allows you to legally ride a motorcycle up to 125cc with L plates — ideal for commuting, delivery work, or weekend rides.
