CBT Snodland
LMRT Motorcycle Training offers a standard motorcycle training course called CBT (Compulsory Basic Training). It is the only legal path to ride a motorcycle in the United Kingdom without anyone supervising you. The CBT course is also designed to reduce the number of traffic accidents and traffic-related deaths and injuries involving motorcyclists.
Amateur and experienced motorcyclists are both welcome to take this course. If you have a valid UK licence in your possession, you are eligible to take our CBT course in Snodland. Previous experience is not required.
Our Snodland-based CBT course has these five elements:
1) Overview
The goals and content of the CBT course will get explained to you. In addition, you must demonstrate your ability to read car plate numbers from at least 20 metres away.
2) Controls
You will learn about the various controls on a motorcycle dashboard and how they help you safely and correctly operate the vehicle.
3) Off-Road Riding
You will ride your motorcycle through an obstacle course away from the main roads. The instructor will test your riding ability and how well you handle the motorcycle overall.
4) Classroom Lecture on Safety
Before you go out on the main roads, you must learn about UK traffic laws about road safety. After that, you will have a better chance of safely riding your motorcycle on the main roads.
5) On-Road Riding
Now you can test your ability to be a safe motorcyclist by riding your motorcycle on the main roads. If you follow road safety rules and traffic laws, you will pass this section..
Certificate of Completion
A Certificate of Completion is your final reward after passing the on-road riding element. Your certificate is good for two years.
