At LMTR, we offer professional and comprehensive Compulsory Basic Training (CBT) for riders of all experience levels in and around the Penge area. Whether you are a complete novice or a more experienced rider, we provide the training needed to make you a confident and safe rider.

Riding a motorcycle or scooter on UK roads without having a good understanding of the machine, how to control it, and competent road use can be dangerous. Keep in mind that the risk of injury is significantly higher with riders than with motorists.

With CBT training, you are taken through five separate elements that will enhance your understanding and knowledge of your vehicle, how to safely operate it on UK roads and the highway code.

Training begins at our spacious Grove Park Lewisham training facility. Once you master the first four elements of the course, you can then move on to supervised open-road training as the final element. Our course does not involve testing, but rather, continuous assessment of your understanding of the elements. Upon successful completion of the course, you will earn a Certificate of Completion.

As said, our training is open to aspiring riders of all skill levels. If you want to start at the easiest level, we recommend our scooter riding course. Scooters or mopeds are smaller, less powerful, and more economical than motorcycles. However, even novice riders can train to ride motorcycles which offer a faster and bigger ride.
