CBT Medway
UK Law requires motorcyclists to take a CBT (Compulsory Basic Training) course and receive a CBT certificate before riding their motorcycles on the road unsupervised.
LMRT Motorcycle Training offers an officially authorized CBT course in Medway. The CBT course doesn’t require you to have any prior motorcycle riding experience. All you need is a valid UK licence to enroll in the course.
Here is a breakdown of the CBT course curriculum:
1) Course Overview
The instructor will discuss a basic overview of the course and what you can expect to get out of it. You’ll also be required to read a car plate number from 20 metres away in order to test your eyesight.
2) Controls
Every motorcycle rider must understand the standard motorcycle controls and their functions. The CBT course will explain the purpose and function of each control mechanism so that you know what they do for you while on a motorcycle.
3) Off-Road Riding
You’ll receive motorcycle training in an off-road location with obstacles. The instructor will want to see how well you can ride the motorcycle around the different obstacles without hitting them.
4) Road Safety Lessons
Road safety lessons will get taught in a classroom environment. You must understand UK road safety laws to become a safer and better motorcycle rider.
5) On-Road Riding
The final part is riding your motorcycle on the main roads and safely navigating real-time traffic. You’ll be done with the course if you can pass this section.
Certificate of Completion
Successfully completing all five elements will entitle you to receive a Certificate of Completion. The certificate expires within two years.
