CBT Higham
LMRT Motorcycle Training is one of the official motorcycle training schools in Higham. Our instructors are authorised to teach the CBT (Compulsory Basic Training) course to students looking to ride their motorcycles on the road without supervision. The only eligibility requirements are for students to hold a valid UK licence or a valid European licence with a D91 form. Motorcycle riding experience is not required.
The UK Government requires motorcycle riders to take the CBT course every two years to legally ride alone on the road. The CBT course covers motorcycle control functions, road safety laws and tests your driving abilities both off-road and on-road. Once you complete the CBT course, we’ll issue an official CBT Certificate which expires within two years.
The CBT course is divided into five stages: Course Overview, Motorcycle Controls, Off-Road Riding, Road Safety Classroom Lesson, and On-Road Riding. Our instructors are fully knowledgeable about motorcycle control functions and the best ways to stay safe on your motorcycle while complying with the latest road safety laws. So even if you have experience riding a motorcycle, the CBT course will be a refresher to ensure you understand the latest rules of the road.
In addition, you’ll be required to take an eyesight test at the start of the course. This is because the law requires you to see well enough to read car plate numbers from 20 metres away.
