CBT Hartley
Compulsory Basic Training (CBT) is a legally required course for any licenced motorcyclist wishing to ride their bikes on UK roads without supervision. It doesn’t matter if you’re an experienced or inexperienced rider because the CBT course must get taken every two years to continue riding on your motorcycle.
LMRT Motorcycle Training offers an official CBT course in Hartley. Anyone with a valid UK licence can take the course. We can supply you with jackets, helmets, and gloves for the motorcycle riding elements of our course.
Our CBT course breaks down into five comprehensive elements:
Introduction – We’ll discuss the objectives of the course and what you will learn from it. Make sure you bring eyeglasses if needed because we’ll also test your eyesight. You’ll pass the eyesight test if you can read numbers on a car plate from 20 metres away.
Controls – We’ll review all the standard motorcycle controls and their functions and purpose. You must understand these controls to ride your motorcycle on the road safely.
Off-Road Riding – You will test your motorcycle riding knowledge by riding off-road on an obstacle course.
Road Safety – One classroom session on road safety will be required before you take your on-road riding test.
On-Road Riding – The final course element is your on-road riding test. If you show that you understand traffic laws by navigating the roads safely, you will pass the course.
Receive Your Certificate of Completion
Completing our CBT course will entitle you to a Certificate of Completion. It is valid for two years, after which you must retake the course to renew your certificate for another two years.
