CBT Elmstead Wood – Safe Riding Starts Here
If you’re based in Elmstead Wood and ready to take the first step toward riding independently, LMRT’s CBT Elmstead Wood training course is designed for you. A CBT is a legal requirement in the UK before you can ride a scooter or motorcycle on the road. The course doesn’t test you—it trains you to be safe, confident, and fully prepared for traffic conditions.
Our course begins with an eyesight check and introduction, making sure you can read a number plate at 20 metres. You’ll then be shown how your motorcycle or scooter controls work, including gears, brakes, and dashboard functions. This knowledge ensures you’re comfortable before you ride.
The next stage takes place off-road. You’ll practice in a controlled environment, working through manoeuvres that prepare you for real traffic situations. Once you’re confident, we move into a classroom session on road safety, which covers everything from junctions and speed limits to spotting common hazards.
The course concludes with an on-road riding session. Here, our instructors guide you through real-life traffic conditions to make sure you’re competent and confident.
Once you’ve completed the course successfully, you’ll receive your CBT Certificate, valid for two years. This allows you to ride legally with L plates and continue your journey toward a full motorcycle licence.
