CBT Darenth

Compulsory Basic Training (CBT) is a government requirement for licenced motorcyclists who wish to ride alone on their bikes. Both experienced and inexperienced riders can take the course if they have a valid UK licence (or European Licence w/ D91 form). 

LMRT Motorcycle Training offers an official CBT course in Darenth. We can supply you with jackets, helmets, and gloves to use during the riding evaluations of the course. All you need to do is dress for the weather and prepare to learn. 

The CBT course will include the following five elements: 

1) Aims of the Course 

The CBT course content will be explained and reviewed. We’ll also want to test if you can read car plate numbers from 20 metres away. 

2) Learn the Controls 

How well do you know the standard controls of a motorcycle? We’ll review the functions and purpose of normal motorcycle controls so that you understand them all perfectly. 

3) Off-Road Riding 

When you understand the controls of a motorcycle, you can now put your newfound skills to the test. We’ll evaluate your ability to ride a motorcycle on an obstacle course off-road, away from traffic and cars. 

4) Road Safety Lessons 

You’ll learn road safety lessons in a classroom setting, including the latest traffic laws and rules. 

5) On-Road Riding 

The last course element is the on-road evaluation. If you prove your ability to ride a motorcycle on the road safely, you’ll pass the course. 

The Reward: Certificate of Completion 

Students who complete the five elements of the CBT course will receive an official Certificate of Completion valid for two years.
