CBT Darenth – Your First Step to Riding Freedom
If you’re looking to start your motorcycling journey in Darenth, LMRT’s CBT Darenth course is the perfect place to begin. Compulsory Basic Training (CBT) is a legal requirement for anyone who wants to ride a moped or motorcycle on UK roads. It’s not a test, but a structured training course designed to make sure you can handle a bike safely and confidently.
At Darenth, our course is broken down into five clear sections. We begin with an introduction and eyesight check, ensuring you meet the minimum vision requirements to ride. Next, we guide you through the motorcycle’s controls so you know exactly how everything works before you start riding.
The training then moves off-road, giving you the chance to practice in a safe environment with no traffic. Once you’ve built confidence, you’ll attend a road safety session where our instructors cover the most common hazards and how to avoid them. Finally, the course concludes with supervised on-road riding, where you’ll put everything you’ve learned into practice.
On completion, you’ll be awarded a CBT Certificate (DL196) valid for two years. This allows you to ride legally on the road with L plates. At LMRT, we provide helmets, jackets, and gloves—so all you need is the right licence and suitable clothing.
