Do you want to ride a motorbike in Chislehurst? Well, it isn’t that easy to go on a ride. First, you have to complete a short process to get your license, and then you are free to go. This short process is a training course known as Compulsory Basic Training, CBT, designed by The United Kingdom’s Driver and Vehicle Standard Agency (DVSA). It is a set of assessments and instructions that gives the learner a better experience from the beginning, to make their ride safe on the road.
What is the purpose of the CBT test?
The sole purpose behind introducing this training course is to minimize the ratio of accidents, which mostly occurred because of unskilled bike riders. Therefore, you cannot ride on the bike without the CBT certificate.
What are the eligibility criteria to enroll in the course?
There is no such criterion to get enrolled in the program. However, you need to have your provisional license. The best part is you don’t have to be an experienced rider to enroll, as they will make you learn how to ride on the bike.
How long does the CBT test take?
The CBT course lasts for around, 5-8 hours normally; however, if you have a little bit of experience, you can proceed with the test faster and easily. LMRT makes this course much easier for you by making it customised according to the experience level of the trainees.
How does the CBT test proceed?
It is a standard set of routines comprising five elements, regulated by the agency, which focuses on training and educating the trainees about how to operate and control the bike. LMRT provides you with all necessary things, including gloves, jackets, footwear, and helmet as well as there are qualified and well-experienced instructors to guide you.
The five elements of the CBT course are the following:
LMRT starts with a basic beginning of the training by introducing the key objectives along with the study of necessary precautions. Here an assessment to check the rider’s eyesight is conducted. A rider’s eyesight is examined in this course by checking whether you can read a car’s number plate from a distance of 20 meters or not.
After you are done with the first stage, then you will start your next stage, in which you will learn how to control the motorcycle along with its components. This will give you a basic understanding of how all motorcycles operate.
This stage is the most important one. In which you ride the bike under the supervision of the instructor, in a controlled environment, without any traffic or people around.
This classroom session by LMTR teaches you how to stay safe on the road. In this element, highway codes and all the safety measures are taught. As there are many dangers involved while you are riding a bike, this stage will help you to deal with all such incidents.
After passing all the four stages you will proceed with the last and the most exciting stage, which is you will be allowed to ride a motorbike with your instructor.
Certificate of Completion:
Once you are done with your training session, you will be provided with your Certification of Completion with an expiry date of 2 years.
