CBT Addington

LMRT Motorcycle Training is a highly reputable motorcycle training school in Addington. We specialise in teaching a government-approved Compulsory Basic Training (CBT) course to people who wish to ride their motorcycles alone on the roads and streets of the United Kingdom. If that sounds like you, you’ll need to complete the CBT course and obtain your CBT Certificate of Completion.

Here are the basic things you need to know about enrolling in the CBT course:

  • No motorcycle riding experience is necessary.
  • You must be able to read numbers on a car plate at least 20 metres away.
  • You must possess an valid UK licence card or a valid European licence with a DVLA-issued D91 form.
  • Wear jeans and sturdy footwear to the course. We will provide jackets, helmets, and gloves.
  • Read the highway code before class to understand UK road systems and how they work.

The CBT course contains five separate elements. These elements include:

  • An overview of the course and motorcycle safety equipment
  • Lessons on motorcycle controls
  • An off-road riding assessment
  • Lessons on road safety and a review of the highway code
  • An on-road riding assessment

When you reach the required standard at the end of the course, you will be issued an official CBT Certificate of Completion. This certificate is proof that you have fulfilled all the educational and legal requirements to ride motorcycles on the road unsupervised. The certificate will be good for two years before it expires.
